07:10:34 <nribeka> ok shoot
07:11:11 <mkulumadzi> first, svn stopped working for svn.openmrs.org on our server
07:11:57 <mkulumadzi> got this error:
07:11:58 <mkulumadzi> svn: PROPFIND of '/openmrs/branches/1.4.x': Could not resolve hostname `svn.open mrs.org': No address associated with hostname (http://svn.openmrs.org)
07:12:21 <mkulumadzi> not sure if something has changed on the svn server? I can access it fine from a web browser
07:12:28 <nribeka> wait
07:12:34 <nribeka> let me test it
07:12:40 <mkulumadzi> Please
07:12:42 <OpenMRSBot> Recent updates in the world of openmrs: OpenMRS Tickets: Ticket #1165 (defect reopened): can't download form because of velocity error <http://dev.openmrs.org/ticket/1165#comment:13>
07:12:47 <nribeka> you're trying to check out?
07:12:53 <mkulumadzi> Yeah
07:13:07 <mkulumadzi> And my second error was relayed by the OpenMRSBot
07:13:27 <nribeka> repo is http://svn.openmrs.org, right?
07:13:29 <mkulumadzi> the velocity permissions error we were seeing in formentry, which seemed to be fixed by upgrading to 3.3.5, just resurfaced
07:13:34 <mkulumadzi> yeah
07:15:42 <nribeka> hmm mkulumadzi
07:15:45 <mkulumadzi> hmm... it could just be a dns error on our server
07:15:48 <nribeka> strange, it works for me
07:15:59 <nribeka> maybe mkulumadzi
07:16:06 <nribeka> try to refresh the repo
07:16:11 <nribeka> and redo checkout
07:17:50 <mkulumadzi> ok, it was just a dns error
07:17:52 <mkulumadzi> nevermind
07:18:44 <mkulumadzi> i'm going to try to deploy the latest code to see if it fixes error #2 (velocity permissions on formentry)
07:18:54 <mkulumadzi> has anyone else been experiencing that error?
07:19:30 <nribeka> not that i'm aware of
07:19:56 <nribeka> give it a try mkulumadzi :D
07:34:32 <mkulumadzi> seems to have worked
07:34:40 <nribeka> ah cool
07:34:40 <nribeka> :D
07:34:46 <mkulumadzi> it worked last time for a while too, then stopped
07:35:01 <mkulumadzi> hopefully this time it's permanent

14:50:41 <bwolfe> Echidna: you /might/ be able to use javascript for htat
14:50:51 <bwolfe> I doubt tomcat would be able to know
14:56:40 <Echidna> bwolfe: ok it seems to be "screen.width" lol
14:56:48 <Echidna> but i'm not sure how to use it in an url

15:23:08 <nribeka> comments bwolfe?

15:27:00 <Echidna> adobe flex, huh
15:27:21 <bwolfe> nribeka: saving twice isn't really an option. :-/
15:28:14 <nribeka> but we can't call the flush :(
15:28:27 <nribeka> or you want to remove the assert?
15:28:51 <nribeka> because it will miss the cache and will throw NPE
15:28:52 <nribeka> :(
15:33:15 <bwolfe> nribeka: correct, we can't call flush either
15:33:29 <bwolfe> nribeka: why is it missing the cache at that point ?
15:33:34 <bwolfe> nribeka: thats the thing to figure out
15:36:53 <nribeka> ok lemme check it again. but i think it's because we change the entity key .equal and .hashcode
15:41:19 <OpenMRSBot> Recent updates in the world of openmrs: OpenMRS Changesets: Changeset [6664]: openmrs-logic: Ticket #1222 - openmrs-require-multiple-privileges patch … <http://dev.openmrs.org/changeset/6664>
15:44:06 <bwolfe> nribeka: is it getting cached in hibernate as a concept and then trying to get it out of the cache as a conceptnumeric? Is that the problem ?
15:50:22 <nribeka> i think so bwolfe. let me check again
15:51:55 <bwolfe> nribeka: what happens if you use getConceptNumeric on line 47 ?
15:57:27 <nribeka> still the same bwolfe
16:09:30 <bwolfe> nribeka: argh
16:09:59 <bwolfe> nribeka: did you verify its caching as a concept object and fetching as a conceptnumeric object ?
16:10:06 <bwolfe> nribeka: is there something we can do to fix that ?
16:12:33 <nribeka> hang on bwolfe
16:20:01 <nribeka> bwolfe, it stored as concept numeric in the cache
16:20:25 <nribeka> but the hashCode in the cache is 1061104423
16:20:44 <nribeka> while the input hashCode is -858019218
16:20:59 <nribeka> this is why i think the cache miss
16:21:09 <bwolfe> hmm
16:21:28 <bwolfe> where'd it get that hashcode ? see what the hashCode is for new Concept(1) and new ConceptNumeric(1)
16:21:53 <nribeka> that what i'm about to check :P
16:21:54 <nribeka> hang on
16:22:21 <bwolfe> ah, great minds think alike :-)
16:22:34 <nribeka> hehehe not as good as bwolfe :P
16:32:35 <bwolfe> nribeka: I've got you fooled then!
16:33:11 <nribeka> why bwolfe?
16:33:23 <bwolfe> because you think your mind isn't as good
16:35:22 <nribeka> lolz ... :P
17:00:01 <Echidna> bwolfe: would you happen to know why if my encounters have an even number of child encounters, the edit encounter page wont display the patient and provider names
17:00:08 <Echidna> if i add/remove one, everything works fine
17:00:37 <Echidna> both are displayed via openmrs tags
17:07:38 <bwolfe> Echidna: um, that sounds very odd
17:09:20 <Echidna> in fact, i think it breaks some js too
17:09:47 <Echidna> i have a function that displays a different <th> depending on a variable
17:09:55 <Echidna> now it displays both

17:22:48 <bwolfe> Echidna: was there a question in there? ;-) Do you have some code to explain the bug perhaps?
17:23:10 <Echidna> i'm looking into it
17:23:21 <Echidna> it's definitely the jsp block that lists the children
17:23:39 <Echidna> bmckown: i think i found it
17:23:57 <Echidna> the childEncounters were listed in a <table> which had the id="obs"
17:24:04 <Echidna> same as the obs table further below
17:24:31 <Echidna> seems like it caused javascript trouble, but only when there's an even number of childEncounters
17:24:32 <Echidna> weird
17:24:40 <Echidna> err not bmckown
17:24:41 <Echidna> sorry
17:24:43 <Echidna> bwolfe
17:25:39 <nribeka> ah bwolfe you're so smarrtttttt and really good with hibernate
17:25:41 <bmckown> no prob. I was wondering what i must not have remembered about the subject.
17:26:18 <nribeka> bmckown, thank you for the book suggestion
17:26:21 <Echidna> i was apologizing to bmckown =P
17:26:26 <nribeka> knock em dead is really interesting :D
17:26:48 <bmckown> like it? knock em dead is a good book. no prob, Echidna.
17:27:34 <nribeka> yes, i like it. different way to write resume :P
17:27:47 <nribeka> interesting
17:27:51 <bmckown> btw (for others), the book isn't about the mafia. it's a book on resume's.
17:28:38 <nribeka> bmckown, lolz :P
17:28:43 <Echidna> lol
17:28:46 <Echidna> damn
17:28:53 <Echidna> writing applications is a pain already
17:29:05 <Echidna> if i have to read books in addition, i'll really hate my life
17:31:15 <bmckown> My eight-year old son would say, "It's okay, Echidna."
17:31:33 <nribeka> btw bwolfe, you're right. the diff in hashcode because we use Concept but the save use ConceptNumeric. In the save method hibernate can resolve entityName to ConceptNumeric and rootEntityName to Concept. But in load method, because we use Concept as the parameter, hibernate resolve entityName to Concept and rootEntityName to ConceptNumeric which would give different hashCode value
17:31:58 <Echidna> hmm
17:32:23 <Echidna> i wonder how much of that book applies to other countries
17:34:12 <bwolfe> nribeka: and using getConceptNumeric doesn't fix that ? :-/
17:35:29 <Echidna> http://profile.ak.facebook.com/v230/165/113/n1418712369_4689.jpg

17:45:14 <r0bby> Echidna: yeh that's burke
17:45:55 <r0bby> by the way, hai :-)
17:48:15 <Echidna> hi
17:48:18 <Echidna> and bai, gtg home
18:00:46 <nribeka> bwolfe, it works using getConceptNumeric
18:00:56 <nribeka> is it good news?
18:01:02 <bwolfe> nribeka: yeah
18:01:29 <nribeka> seems that we can't get the cache using superclass
18:01:31 <bwolfe> and thats an expected behavior :-)
18:01:42 <nribeka> this going to happen to Person too right bwolfe?
18:01:46 <bwolfe> nribeka: right, and we don't want to get it using superclass
18:02:09 <bwolfe> if a Person is cached, and we ask for a User, go to the db and get a user
18:02:21 <bwolfe> if a Patient is cached, and we ask for a User, go to the db and get a user
18:02:33 <bwolfe> before, it would not go to the db for those two situations
18:02:42 <nribeka> ic ic
18:03:07 <nribeka> you thought me hibernate caching here bwolfe :P
18:03:26 <nribeka> so, the fix would be getConceptNumeric? :P
18:03:30 <bwolfe> nribeka: yep
18:03:52 <bwolfe> nribeka: I don't understand your line of: " you thought me hibernate caching here bwolfe"
18:03:56 <nribeka> arrghhh all this long and the fix is only a few lines :(
18:04:10 <nribeka> you make me learn the inside of hibernate
18:04:22 <nribeka> because i need to go deep into it lolz
18:04:37 <nribeka> well it's a good think. i know some part of hibernate :P
